2025 Midwinter Conference

The Midwinter Conference is an annual event made up of educational sessions that focus on safety, industry issues, and legislative affairs. Typically, we have speakers from the FMCSA, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in attendance. In addition, we have national industry speakers as they relate to safety or regulatory compliance.  The close of the conference is marked by the Safety Awards Banquet recognizing safe drivers and carriers. The conference registration includes a ticket to the Safety Awards Banquet.

1:00 - 1:30 p.m. - OSSC Meeting

1:30 - 2:30 p.m.  - "Oklahoma Roads and Bridges Update" Presented by Director of Transportation, Tim Gatz, Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

2:30 - 3:15 p.m. -  "Safeguarding Your Interest During Environmental Emergencies" Presented by Richard Lenius, President of Lone Star Hazmat Response.
This session will provide critical insights and actionable strategies to help you effectively protect your interest in the event of an environmental emergency.

4:15 - 5:15 p.m. - Regulatory Panel with Major Preston Lay - Oklahoma DPS, Eric Pearson - FMCSA (PENDING), Alyson Sorenson - Service Oklahoma, and Paul Swigart - Oklahoma Corporation Commission

5:15 - 6:00 p.m. - BREAK | Drivers arrival in Foyer

6:00 p.m. - Safety Awards Banquet
