DESCRIPTION:What is Call on Washington? OTA members join up at a central hotel in Washington and\, as a group\, meet with individual members of Oklahoma's Congressional delegation\, heads of regulatory agencies\, and other officials to discuss business issues.\n\nWhy should I go? No one knows our industry like we do and Members of Congress need to hear first-hand from business owners and executives about their concerns! Who better to carry the message than you?\n\nWhat does it cost? Participants pay their own travel\, hotel costs and meals. The American Trucking Associations assists us in obtaining discounted room rates at a centrally located hotel (reserve your room using that link). The ATA recommends not scheduling flights out on Wednesday evening before 7:30 P.M. \n\nWhat is involved in the Congressional visits? Here's a video to watch! You will be with other members or staff who know The District and how to get around. We arrange all the appointments\, provide briefing materials\, and hold a prep session before heading out on our visits. We make it easy to get to and from Capitol Hill and other venues (the Metro system is cheap and easy to use)\, and we try to make the most efficient use of your time. You will be a veteran after your first visit!\n\nWhen do I need to commit? The earlier the better. Knowing our head count is important for ATA to schedule with our delegation\, and you will want to book early to get the lowest possible airfares. The sign-up deadline is November 13.
