Truck Day @ Capitol
The Oklahoma Trucking Association is excited to continue Truck Day at the Capitol. Please join us for a day of advocacy, training, and working with our legislature to spread the positive image of trucking. During this program, members will have a chance to observe the political process in action. Our annual program is designed to increase positive imaging of trucking through the education of our elected officials.
Starting at 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, Truck Day will feature:
• Light Breakfast & Coffee
• Lobbying 101 - Training on how to advocate
• Deliver trucking facts to legislators
• Safety Award Presentations: OTA Drivers recognized in the House & Senate
Want to help?
There are many ways you can make our Truck Day a success. This is a free public imaging program. Open to all members of OTA. Check out the Program details, and see where you want to play a part in one if not all of the activities.
Light Breakfast & Briefing (8:00 AM-8:30 AM): We'll have a light breakfast and CEO, Jim Newport will give a briefing.
Walking the Halls (8:30 AM-9:00 AM): We want to personally deliver marketing materials educating each legislator about the trucking industry.
Session (9:00 AM): Attend sessions in both the House and Senate to observe the presentation of Safety Awards to our Professional Drivers’. Observe the legislative process from the gallery.
Group Photo & Adjourn (~10:00 AM -11:00 AM): We will gather as a group, Capitol photographers will take our photo to commemorate our annual day of advocacy and you will be dismissed from here.
Our success is measured by the positive impact we make with community outreach initiatives. Consider taking an active role in our Truck Day at the Capitol event.
